It is our goal to spiritually cater to the entire international community as the Body of Christ.  In keeping with this practice, we currently offer the following ministry services in our Sunday school studies which start at 10:45 AM.  Please view specific class information below:

Nursery:

Our Nursery department is here to offer a clean, quiet, and safe environment for your child.  Our rooms are fully staffed to provide for the specific needs of each child.  Please contact Tomi Lyle for more details.

Preschool:

Sonja Lowe, our Pastor's wife and Akiko Ishihara, oversee our Preschool and Children's departments.  Providing years of education experience and training, our staff aims to help your child develop and meet his/her needs while giving you an opportunity to attend the worship service.  Sharon Dionio teaches our 3-5 year olds on Sunday mornings in an environment that encourages their learning about the Bible.

Kindergarten:

Mayumi Usui trains our kindergarten age children in a variety of learning activities as they transition to this  age of new discovery. 

Grades 1-2:

Christy Reed teaches our young school-age children in a relaxed and educational environment.  She brings experience and love for children in leading them to learn about Jesus.  These classes are geared specifically toward your young child's interest.

Grades 3-4:

Susan Abe brings experience and a love for children and the Lord to her teaching of this class.  Ever changing weekly activities spark excitement and intrigue in these children and help keep the class interesting.

Grades 5-6:

These years in a young person's life can drastically change their outlook on life and God.  Yoko Barrett and Rosemary Puro know this and have a great desire to see the Word of God taught.  Yoko and Rosemary teach with experience and have a great heart for children and love for God.

Youth:

Pastor Jeff oversees our R.O.C.K. youth department to deliver an overall Christ centered environment for all youth to enjoy.  On Sunday mornings, Arnold Tiempo, along with a youth ministry team including his wife and Dan and Lori Kohlbeck, teach our youth how to apply the knowledge and principles of God's Word to everyday life.  

College and Career:

This new class is designed for those who have graduated from High School through college and young career age (18-30).  The teacher leads this class in studying God's Word and making application to the needs and concerns that face those in this time of life.

Adult Mixed Class I:

This class is open to anyone of adult age.  Joseph Zee teaches this class.  They study the history, meaning and application of Scripture with a broader scope of age in mind.  It meets in the main fellowship hall during the Sunday school time.  

Young Marrieds Class: 

This class is designed for new married couples and families with kids, bringing the Bible closer to home. Age is not a limit. Christian and Aurora Costache lead this class in discovery of how to apply biblical principals and teachings in day to day life to marriages and in raising children. It meets in the small fellowship hall.

New Believer's Class:

This class teaches the basics of Christian discipleship and is designed for the new believer, those who desire a refresher course, or people who are seeking answers to their questions concerning Christianity.  It is taught by Pastor Terry each Sunday in the library.

Women: 

Josephine Kimura teaches a class of women who love to share and pray for each other.  The women of YIBC have long helped to hold this church together through the years.  Our women's groups offer many different classes in bible study and small group activity.

Sharon Sasaki is a retired American Missionary who has lived in Japan for many years.  She leads the ESL (English as a Second Language) class and is fluent in English and Japanese.  This class is open to everyone.

Japanese:

This class is open to all Japanese speakers. Kiyokatsu Ohgushi leads the class with a Japanese bible. If you have any questions about Christianity, please stop in at the class. Of course it is OK to participate as a guest!

Tagalog:

Perla Hirai is the teacher of our Tagalog Bible Study group.  We have a large Filipino community at YIBC and they love to eat!  Stop in and join this group as they learn from God's Word and spend time in fellowship....weekly!

German:

The German group is led by Juergen and Heidi Boeck.  They have a heart for the Lord and a willingness to lead God's people through the German language.  Come and see what God is doing in this class.

English:

English is the main language at YIBC.  Our Sunday morning services (with Japanese translation), small groups during the week, and many other activities are conducted in English.
